Seoul, Korea – SeaChange International (NASDAQ: SEAC), the global leader in broadcast and multi-screen video, announced that Korean Media Holdings (KMH) is deploying two SeaChange MediaServer (MSV) 1200 play-to-air servers for its expansion to deliver HD channels. KMH, one of the largest media content providers in Korea, transmits three of its own channels and 37 channels from various program providers.
KMH is currently on air with SeaChange’s Broadcast MediaLibrary (BML) 24000ex and Broadcast MediaCluster transmission system for the majority of its SD channel lineup. For the addition of four new HD channels, KMH will employ the two SeaChange MSV 1200s as part of its upgrade to introduce HD transmission capabilities.
The SeaChange MSV 1200 is the latest in the series of standalone, broadcast quality video servers that offer flexibility in terms of resolution and video format, making it ideal for channel expansion. At only 3RU, it can accommodate 8TB or 16 TB SATA with RAID 6 dual-parity data protection. The MSV 1200 facilitates high channel density ingest (up to 4 channels) and playout (up to 8 channels) of SD, HD, and 3D content.
