SeaChange to Demonstrate Multi-Screen Video Management and Monetization at The Cable Show
Highlights software and workflow solutions delivering video and advertising to set-tops, PCs, mobile and iPad
May 04, 2010

ACTON, Mass. – Digital television leader SeaChange International, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEAC) will demonstrate a host of software and content workflow solutions at The Cable Show booth 1601 next week in Los Angeles, which are designed to leverage television operators’ existing infrastructures to manage and monetize video across multiple screens.  Complementing SeaChange’s open and modular Intelligent Video Platform, the solutions enable seamless video and advertisement management from the moment content is ingested to the time it is played out to subscribers anywhere using set-tops, PCs, mobile phones and new devices including the Apple iPad.

At the center of SeaChange’s Cable Show exhibit is its open Intelligent Video Platform, which is a flexible, standards-based foundation to support television operators’ ability to deliver video to any device using a single, integrated platform.  Supporting a broad range of streaming formats including MPEG-2 and H.264 as well as HTTP, it combines SeaChange’s market-leading Axiom On Demand content delivery system with its Axiom Adrenalin mobile video platform to form a modular solution to deliver video-on-demand and advanced advertising to any screen, anywhere.

Also on display will be SeaChange’s AssetFlow content management system, an enterprise-wide solution that automates operators’ content workflows.  AssetFlow is designed to facilitate the delivery of all types of assets including movies, TV programs, and linear and on-demand advertisements to subscribers on any screen while reducing operational overhead.

In-home video networking capabilities such as media gateways, whole-home DVR and IP streaming to game consoles and other devices will be on display as part of SeaChange’s VividLogic demonstrations, consisting of a tru2way-ready software stack and DLNA home gateway.

SeaChange will also show its new Universal Media Streamer (UMS), a flash memory-based server that supports multiple video formats and delivers 5,000 video streams in a single 1RU chassis.  The UMS includes integrated support for multiple streaming formats such as constant and variable bit rate SD and HD, HTTP and Adobe Flash among others, making it ideal for multi-screen video delivery to any device.

“The Cable Show will show how SeaChange continues to bring its customers pragmatic solutions that leverage current on-demand infrastructures to quickly introduce new revenue generating services and ensure the business of television across any consumer device,” said Yvette Kanouff, President, SeaChange.
