The SeaChange Spot+ Software protects local linear advertising revenue by detecting the failure of key Spot devices and managing failover to backup devices automatically, with minimal interruption to insertion. Protection is provided by a combination of redundant hardware for high availability and intelligent software for automatic failover.

• Inserters are backed up in a one-to-many (up to 1 to 4) configuration, where the backup inserter must have the same or larger channel capacity of any primary inserter it supports
• Master video libraries and databases are backed up in a one-to-one (1:1) mirrored configuration, while slave databases are backed up in a one-to-many (up to 1 to 3) configuration
• Backup devices are constantly synchronized with the devices they are protecting, so that the backups can take over for a failed device at any time
