Shortly before this year's NCTA Cable Show in New Orleans, SeaChange introduced our new Axiom 5.0 On Demand open content delivery platform. Much more than the back-office software that Axiom has become known as, this new iteration of Axiom was built to help television operators take video on demand to the next level. We're talking about fun and compelling new applications that are meant to build customer loyalty and drive expanded use of the VOD service.
One of the applications that can run on Axiom 5.0 is Affinity, is a social networking-based application that lets subscribers program their own on-demand viewing experience via the Internet, so what they do on a web portal translates into a "favorites" folder in the VOD section of their electronic program guide. Given the rapid growth of VOD content, Affinity helps subscribers navigate and manage vast amounts of content through intelligent search functions as well as recommendations from friends and family.
We also introduced ReStart TV, an Axiom application that lets viewers rewind, pause and re-start programs from the beginning, less than 10 seconds into a broadcast airing - to catch their favorite shows with planning ahead to program a DVR.
It's important to note that we didn't build the new version of Axiom and these applications in a vacuum or simply because of the "neat" factor. They came about because the cable and telco TV operators that we work with around the world have been asking us for new ways to leverage their VOD platforms. This is the type of thing our customers have requested to help build their businesses and we're only just now beginning to scratch the surface of what's possible.
Over the last couple of weeks we've had a great chance to meet with members of the press and analyst communities to show what we're doing and we couldn't be more excited about the response thus far. We'll be rolling out Axiom 5.0 along with Affinity and ReStart TV later this summer and we're looking forward to reporting back on the results of some of our first deployments.
