Rogers Communications: Breaking into On-Demand TV Advertising
Rogers Communications achieved a first among television operators in North America in 2012 when it began dynamically inserting ads into Rogers On Demand program streams during mid-roll breaks.
The SeaChange Advertising Decision Manager, which was added to Rogers’ SeaChange Axiom VOD-based multi-vendor environment, brokers ad placement requests from the back office to the Advertising Decision System (ADS), instructing video servers on which playlist to use, then reporting all playout data to the ADS for traffic and billing.
